Network Engineer (Grand Rapids)

Growing, local telecommunications company is actively seeking a Full Time VOIP Network Engineer to work with our service and new system installation teams. Our people and culture set us apart from the industry. This position will be located in our Grand Rapids office and will call on clients within all of Western MI.

Responsibilities:

This position will work on assigned projects and short term dispatch assignments to support the network component of VOIP systems. The successful candidate will have understanding and proficiency of the issues involved with administration, configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining corporate information technology infrastructure, including WAN LAN, and VLAN network connectivity, Internet access, Exchange Servers configuration and management, router and switch programming, server installation, virtual network environments, etc..

Skill Set Required:

• Experience and knowledge of IP networking protocols set-up and support (TCP/IP WAN and LAN/VLAN).
• Ability to troubleshoot and configure switches, routers (HP Procurve and Cisco) and servers (MS Exchange, Windows Server) on local and wide area networks and virtual environments.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Interest in attaining proficiency and certification in configuration and programming of Mitel IP PBX systems and applications.
• Prior telecommunications and/or Voice Carrier/Network experience helpful but not necessary.
